Following its original publication by Asahi Sonorama in 1976, Tales of Tono was reissued in different versions by Kobunsha in 2007 and Tate Publishing in 2012. However, these were pocket-sized editions, which I found somewhat unsatisfactory when it came to fully appreciating the photographs. For this newly revised edition, we adopted a larger format and included 49 previously unpublished photographs that were not featured in the first edition.
