Launch and signing of Riverland by Marjolein Martinot

During a dark and deeply unsettled period in her personal life, Dutch photographer and mother of six Marjolein Martinot felt lost and searched for a renewed sense of identity. Each evening, she sought comfort in nature, walking with her camera to a nearby river in southern France. There, she captured the quiet beauty of the natural world in the golden evening light, forming connections with the animals and families she encountered along the riverbanks as they jumped, splashed, climbed and swung from trees.

What began as a ritual of wandering and photographing soon became a visual diary: a quiet meditation on healing and transformation. The water, constantly flowing and unpredictable, reflected her emotional state, while the families she briefly met embodied the warmth and belonging she longed for.
