Beginning in February 2015, and for about a year, Iacopo Pasqui spent time with and photographed a group of teenagers born in 1999. Driven by curiosity about contemporary social dynamics and a need to photograph others, he found in this group of young friends a setting suited to his work, shaped by both closeness and a generational gap. Initially, he expected to find in the lives of Alessio, Chicca, Flavio, Francesco, Irene and Rebecca a reflection of a rotten, fallen contemporary society. Over time, however, he reconsidered his perspective, discovering lives more ordinary than he had anticipated. The work does not aim to dazzle its audience visually, but to investigate the poetry and purity of this age, the young people's innocence and the ways in which, deep down, they are still children. It seeks to reveal a complicated reality, yet one so normal that it seems light-years from its surroundings.
