The vibrant vision of photographer Harry Gruyaert
 
Photographer Harry Gruyaert (b. 1941) invites us on an extensive urban journey. Whether he takes us to Brussels, Antwerp, Tokyo, New York, Paris, Ouarzazate, Old Delhi or Moscow matters little. What prompts the shutter is less the subject than its appearance before the photographer's eye: intense, pulsating colours, sharply defined shadows and urban geometries that punctuate space like a jazz phrase, with calls and responses. Gruyaert's magnetic music unfolds in the street, where vibrations and emotions converse.
 
Harry Gruyaert's work is exhibited at the Chapelle Saint-Martin du Méjan during Les Rencontres d’Arles, from 6 July to 4 October 2026.
