An American Mile is Canadian photographer Kyle McDougall's exploration of the American West. American roads, like those anywhere in the world, are the arteries of the country's commercial life. Goods and people travel along them just as blood carries our red blood cells. Today, many of these American roads languish in profound neglect for a variety of reasons. Through his lens, Kyle McDougall documents the decay that remains when the travellers and goods once carried by these asphalt arteries disappear.
