Kawada travelled to Germany to document the grounds and interiors of Schloss Neuschwanstein, the castle of Bavaria's King Ludwig II. The castle inspired dozens of stories, including Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. Kawada's photographic record has a disturbing, almost terrifying subjective vision: angels, lens distortions and the castle's own silhouette against the horizon make this photobook an unsettling document.
