Dubliners is a photobook by Irish photographer Tony O'Shea, with text by Colm Tóibín. Born on Valentia Island, Kerry, in 1947, O'Shea has worked as a photojournalist for The Sunday Times Magazine and the Sunday Business Post. This documentary captures the everyday lives of people in Ireland's capital. Its view of Dublin in the 1980s moves beyond famous monuments and buildings to explore the city's inner life: an old community marked by unemployment and poverty. It is a compelling human document and a wonderful collection reminiscent of fellow photographer Tom Wood's street photography.
