In 1978, Mary Ellen Mark convinced Geo Magazine, the publication she worked for, to document the busy Falkland Road. Falkland Road is a famous street for prostitutes in Bombay. It's like any busy street in the densely populated Bombay. The street is lined with old wooden buildings, which are filled with prostitutes displaying themselves in the windows or on the ground-floor shopfronts. From dawn to dusk, clients pass by the street to inspect the girls.
