The artwork from hundreds of covers collected in this book creates a visual history of Jamaican popular culture and its musical styles, from its beginnings in the 50s with mento and calypso, through the explosion of ska and rocksteady in the 60s, to the emergence of other styles such as dub and dancehall, which still dominated Jamaican dance floors when this book was published in 2012.
