Explore the world of Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama in Sunflower. Beginning as an assistant to Takeji Iwamiya and later Eikoh Hosoe before working independently, Moriyama has profoundly influenced photography since the mid-1960s. His innovative works include Nippon Gekijo Shashincho, Farewell Photography, The Hunter, Kagero and Light and Shadow. His distinctive style combines striking high-contrast black-and-white images, abstraction through blur and movement, and a subtle erotic undercurrent. He captures human warmth and urban life with instantly recognisable originality. Sunflower belongs to publisher Satoshi Machiguchi's MMM series, edited by Hisako Motoo, and explores floral motifs recalling Joel Meyerowitz's Wild Flowers and Robert Frank's Flower Is. The edition is strictly limited to 1,000 copies.
