Pablo López Luz's Bajo la Sombra de la Pirámide is a refined visual meditation on the persistence of pre-Hispanic forms within the contemporary urban landscape of Latin America. Through a carefully edited sequence of photographs made in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Cuba, López Luz reveals how simple geometric motifs echo the silhouettes of ancient pyramids, suggesting an enduring visual language that transcends borders and generations.

Working with his characteristic precision and restraint, the photographer transforms everyday façades into quiet architectural studies where colour, symmetry, and abstraction take centre stage. The images encourage viewers to look beyond the surface, uncovering subtle connections between modern cities and the region's ancestral heritage without resorting to nostalgia or spectacle.

Elegantly designed and printed in a large-format edition, Bajo la Sombra de la Pirámide is a visually sophisticated photobook that reflects López Luz's ongoing exploration of landscape, architecture, and cultural memory. It is a thoughtful work that demonstrates how photography can reveal the hidden continuity between history and the contemporary built environment.
