Captivated by motorcycles since childhood, Alberto García-Alix cannot imagine life without them: “It is not only a means of transport that takes me far away, but ‘beyond’; it has always represented, and still represents, a broad idea of happiness, a dream, a piece of heaven on earth…” he writes in Biker, his first book devoted entirely to motorcycles and the world surrounding them.
Many of the images were made at the annual Harley rallies in Grao de Castellón. His intention was “to portray the people and their machines”. The remaining photographs were taken in various places, but “always on the road… always in motion”.
Published in 1993 by El Canto de la Tripulación, the publishing project García-Alix founded and edited, the book brings together photographs made between 1986 and 1993. Biker thus becomes a faithful reflection of his experiences on two wheels during those years.
