Robert Doisneau's playful approach to Parisian street scenes earned him recognition as one of the twentieth century's leading photographers. His ability to infuse everyday life with poetry gives his work lasting popular appeal. Here, he guides us through Parisian gardens, along the Seine and among the city's crowds: workers, the poor, lovers, jugglers, children and dancers. His lens captures them in countless lights and moods. Sometimes funny, often ironic and always tender, his iconic work reflects the Paris of our dreams. This paperback edition contains 175 photographs, including thirty previously unpublished images.
