In Psychedelic Street, Japanese photographer Masakazu Sugiura captures the vibrant, colourful, dazzling visual chaos of Vietnam's roads and streets in equally lively, stimulating images. Beyond documenting street scenes, Sugiura found reminders of his own life: the atmosphere and sheer vitality evoked his childhood, the freedom of his early twenties and the adventure of discovering the world. His photographs of places overflowing with visual information, improvised spaces and layers of life unfolding simultaneously in shared settings suggest “another world lurking beneath”, as the publisher describes it.
