Oliver Takáč is a Slovak photographer, colourist and cinematographer born in Košice. He studies cinematography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, training as a director of photography. His colourful work feels like stepping into a film, among imagined narratives in extraordinary places. His style has already made an impression on his contemporaries, and he offers masterclasses for emerging artists interested in his colour-grading techniques, a notable achievement for someone who has photographed for only a few years.
 
 
 
“I have been taking photographs for about two and a half years. It is not a long journey. I photograph what I like, not what I think others want. I don't promote myself to become famous. I am happy with myself and what I do. That is all I really need.
 
 
 
I don't take inspiration from anyone else. I have plenty of ideas for photographs in my head, so why should I? I think that without basic ideas to begin with, you won't create your own style, and everything will result from a series of accidents.”
