Dries Van Noten's first collaboration with the artist dates to 2016, after discovering Gill's work on Instagram (@buttonfruit). Months of discussion about working together led to a series of paintings of the remarkable Italian heiress Marchesa Luisa Casati, one of the main inspirations behind Dries Van Noten's Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. The thirteen works, based on various photographs of the eclectic heiress, subsequently travelled with the collection and inspired the invitations to the fashion show. Almost 1,200 invitations came to life, creating precious, unique keepsakes for the guests.
