Premium Heavyweight Matte Paper

Canvas print details: our premium matte paper is 10 mils thick and weighs 192 g/m2. It is a very bright white paper with high opacity. It produces very rich blacks and brilliant colours while retaining a vintage look. Because the paper is matte, glare is virtually nonexistent.

Caring for prints on premium matte paper

The printed surface of Premium Matte Paper is relatively durable and resistant to fingerprints and moisture. The ink is not water-soluble. That said, you should handle these prints carefully, as deep black areas may be susceptible to scratching. This effect, which appears subtly when the print lies flat, is minimised when the print is viewed on a wall.

For maximum longevity, we recommend framing with UV-protective glass or plexiglass and avoiding direct sunlight.

IMPORTANT page specifications for prints on premium matte paper

Images printed on paper will be smaller than the specified page size. The paper will have between 0.5 and 2 inches of unprinted white margin to assist with handling and framing. The image will be printed as large as possible to fill the selected size while leaving this small margin. Different images have different aspect ratios. This means that some images have different shapes from others.

Our digital printing process

Our images are generated from high-resolution digital scans and printed with archival-quality inks on various substrates, including canvas, fine-art paper and photographic paper. Using a professional 12-colour inkjet printer, this printing process is designed to deliver a wide, brilliant colour gamut while achieving archival longevity of more than 100 years under gallery conditions. The process provides greater colour accuracy than other reproduction media and a quality rivalling traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes. It produces the same kinds of prints commonly found in museums, art galleries and photography galleries.
