“My work is both intimate and self-referential.
 
 
 
Each photograph is like a page from my diary. I make self-portraits as a way of getting to know myself and expressing my ideas, feelings and thoughts. They are also an excuse to keep playing, just as I did as a child, dressing up and performing in front of my bedroom mirror.
 
 
 
Even when I am not there at the centre of the photograph, when there is only a composition of vibrant objects bathed in sunlight on a table, a mysterious shadow stretching to touch a flower, or a small nocturnal gesture that becomes sensual and slightly dark, those captured moments are also me taking other forms. I let myself go for an instant, tirelessly playing with objects, colours and light as a necessary exercise, like a little trace I leave to find myself, a visual compass to keep me from getting lost wherever I go.”
