The summer night's breeze, children running along the shore, clouds bringing fleeting showers, the bittersweet scent of apples drifting from street stalls: a beautiful, haunting sadness. We are swept up in a dance of light and colour, and in the blink of an eye an elegant feast for the senses comes to an end. We wonder: what did Kawauchi see in the fireworks, and what lies beyond?
