The magazine PROVOKE, created and published by art critic Koji Taki, photographer Takuma Nakahira, poet Takahiko Okada, photographer Yutaka Takanashi, and (for issues 2 and 3) photographer Daido Moriyama, has had an immeasurable influence on photography worldwide. The individual issues, however, have become extremely rare books that only a few photography enthusiasts will ever see. With this faithful reissue, the Japanese publisher Nitesha offers a facsimile reprint of the three foundational issues.
 
The three reissues are as close as possible to the originals, including book sizes and paper choices, and feature all the images and texts from the originals, including all of Takahiko Okada's writing. In addition, a fourth booklet provides complete English and Chinese translations of all the essays and poems from each of the three issues.
