I have been photographing my dreams for more than a year. At first, I used only the camera, but I soon realised that a single image could not explain them. That was when I decided my project needed more than two dimensions. Because dreams have that depth, that ability to surround you… Because they can take different forms. They can be scent, sound or word. They can be a scream or a whisper, space or time.
Because, as Julio Cortázar wrote in his book Salvo el crepúsculo:
“I know that dreams can bring me horror as well as delight, lead me to discovery or lose me in an endless labyrinth; but I also know that I am what I dream and that I dream what I am. Awake, I know only half of myself, and insomnia plays darkly with that knowledge wrapped in illusions.”
