Divided Soul represents David Alan Harvey's twenty-year journey through the Spanish and Portuguese diaspora in the Americas. In this striking selection of more than 100 colour photographs, Harvey explores the exuberance and incongruities of Hispanic life and culture that fascinate him endlessly.

Since the 1970s, Harvey has photographed in Spain, Portugal, Cuba, Mexico, Honduras, Brazil and Chile. A passionate, divided soul, in which tradition and ritual are inherent in everyday life, emerges in photographs of vibrant carnivals in Trinidad, fervent religious ceremonies in Brazil and intense Holy Week processions in Puerto Rico. Harvey minimises the distance between himself and his subjects, creating images that capture people's natural choreography within places and resonate with the magic of their subjects.
