Brassai eloquently photographed Paris and its people, and also compiled a massive pictorial record of his fellow artists of the time.

Pacific Press Service and Printemps Ginza, co-organizers of the exhibition, take great pleasure in presenting the first comprehensive Brassaï exhibition ever seen outside of France. We are deeply indebted to Madame Gilberte Brassaï for her wise advice and enthusiastic cooperation in realizing this exhibition in Japan.

The patronage of the Embassy of France and the encouragement of the Photographic Society of Japan and the Japan Professional Photographers Society is appreciated, as is the generous support of Oriental Photo Industrial Co., Ltd.
